The Percy Program

It is a fight to level the playing field to be able to compete for jobs and careers on the basis of skills and make available apprentice training to all. In 1973 Al Percy launched a class action lawsuit to give workers like him a chance to better their lot in life. It would also ensure the availability of skilled workers to build the infrastructure of the future. Who is Al Percy? What is the lawsuit?

I tried to navigate the situation as best as I could, but I recognize that I made errors. 40. I do want the ong>Courtong> to understand that I became aware ong>ofong> the challenging nature ong>ofong> the procedural issues in this case and did seek assistance in the spring ong>ofong> 20ong>21ong>. I had contacted Efraim Savitt, Esq., a former federal prosecutor in the Eastern District, and an experienced litigator, in March ong>ofong> 20ong>21ong> to assist me in the litigations and formally retained him on April 2, 20ong>21ong>, to work with me. (Mr. Savitt appeared in 20-cv-06291, ong>21ong>-cv-014ong>21ong> and ong>21ong>-cv-01366, at Dkt. Nos. 18, 10 and 46, respectively.). I made motions to consolidate the 19 cases into EDNY cases 20-cv-06291, ong>21ong>-cv-014ong>21ong> and ong>21ong>-cv-01366: EDNY 20-cv-06131 ong>Docong>ket #8, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv- 01999 ong>Docong>ket #7, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-14ong>21ong> ong>Docong>ket #15, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2006 ong>Docong>ket #6, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv- 2010 ong>Docong>ket #6, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-20ong>21ong> ong>Docong>ket #6, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2022 ong>Docong>ket #6, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2024 ong>Docong>ket #6, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2029 ong>Docong>ket #7, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2030 ong>Docong>ket #6, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2035 ong>Docong>ket #5, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2039 ong>Docong>ket #5, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2040 ong>Docong>ket# 6, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2045 ong>Docong>ket #5, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2050 ong>Docong>ket #7, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2283 ong>Docong>ket #12, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2313 ong>Docong>ket #43, EDNY ong>21ong>-cv-2314 ong>Docong>ket #35, EDNY 20-cv-06291 ong>Docong>ket #7. I bring this to the ong>Courtong>’s attention so that the ong>Courtong> will understand that I was acting in good faith and I did not intend to violate this ong>Courtong>’s rules. 41. Finally, although the ong>Courtong>’s Order referenced my arrest and conviction in the Northern District, I respectfully submit that my conviction should not hang over my head and serve as a basis to doubt my credibility on all matters and for all time. I paid the price for my conduct, and I hope that my prior misconduct not mean that I am forever assumed to be a wrongdoer. 17
